In Memory Of Our Departed Classmates

In June of 1965, as we approached our graduation day, each of us was given a copy of The Dome, the purple and white yearbook. This book contained the names and many pictures of our classmates.
Now we have another book, our memory book, and one by one the names of you, our deceased classmates, have been added each year. Some of you are remembered as close associations and friends who attended our reunions. Others of you may not have maintained contact with any of your classmates after graduation. Each of you is remembered, nevertheless, at our gatherings with a permanent memorial which stands as an ever present reminder of the shared experience of our high school years.
Your passing, our departed classmates, serves to remind us of the transience of our lives and that we should live our remaining time well, to the best of our ability.
As the names continue to be added to our memory book it will, eventually, be completed, but with at least one name missing, for there will be no classmate left to make the final entry. The book will be complete, however, because as a class we will have universally completed our earthly mission and, we hope, have left the world, even in some small way, a little better than we found it.
Let us pause to remember those who have gone before us.
